Taiwan and Thailand are actively enhancing their collaboration in the realm of smart agriculture, emphasizing the integration of artificial intelligence, low-carbon farming techniques, and advanced agricultural technology. A Taiwanese delegation comprising government officials, industry leaders, academics, and researchers recently embarked on a visit to key Thai locations including Bangkok, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai to explore these themes further.
The delegation engaged in substantial discussions with Thai officials and research institutions, focusing on the development and implementation of smart-farming technologies and the modernization of agricultural practices. Central to these discussions were the concepts of low-carbon agriculture and public-private partnerships, which are seen as vital for sustainable agricultural progress.
During the visit, the Taiwanese group also toured farms and agricultural organizations that are employing smart-farming methods. Notable visits included operations involving organic tea and eco-friendly banana cultivation. At Maejo University, conversations centered on agricultural engineering, technology adaptation, and the cultivation of skilled professionals to drive the sector forward.
